Fahrenheit 9/11 -- A Review

A couple days have past now, I feel I am in a much better state of mind to actually review the film.

Moore has a unique way of telling a story. He finds documentation and video footage and mixes them together to create something entertaining and yet pointed. The movie starts with a rather creative montage of the 2000 election. He doesn't delve too deep into this just enough to set the stage for where is about to go. His points are made not with his voice, but through the voice of the very people he is making the point about. This is a powerful propaganda technique and the film is excellent in that regard.

His piece about the war in Afghanistan being set to a Faux Western Television Show is not only VERY funny, but it makes the point that GW Bush and his administration are a bunch of cowboys. The segment where he is interviewed by a Secret Service agent outside the Saudi Arabian embassy is funny and pointed in the same way.

Moore drives us to the point that the war in Iraq was fought for different reasons than the obvious lies we have been told by our President and his cronies. Then he shows us why going to war for the wrong reasons is a bad idea.

All in all it is the best documentary I have ever seen. It is so far the best picture of 2004....And it will have the biggest impact of 2004.

10 of 10!
