I saw Garfield with my kids.... Mrs. D refused to go. She was the smart one.
The movie was much better than I expected, but it still sucked badly.
I felt a certain need to go, even though the preview was god awful, because I am from Muncie, Indiana (Home of Jim Davis creator of Garfield) and Jim Davis donated lots of money to lots of activities I was involved in growing up. He is a great community guy, SO I thought I would go.
The movie was just plain awful, but it could have been worse....
I laughed a few times, I didn't expect to laugh at all. Bill Murray is funny, even just as a voice, but the plot was as lame as a person who has just had all of his bones magically turned into rubber. Most of the movie was endless attempts at humor, which failed miserably. The kids under 10 in the audience were amused, but everyone else was so busy rolling their eyes that they have permenant eye injuries.
STAY FAR FAR AWAY.. AS in go see Shrek 2 again.
Garfield = 2 out of 10.
