NBA Finals

Congratulations to the Detroit Pistons....

Thank God that series is over. I hate both the Pistons and the Lakers! Although I did watch the games, I was unenthusiastic for the finals match up.

The NBA needs to fix a few things and here are my suggestions:

A) Fire Every Referee. That's right, fire them all and start over. Anybody can do a terrible job of officiating. You get 2 steps without dribbling, then it is a violation called travelling. These refs cannot grasp the concept. If it was only 3 steps, and only once in a while, I would say they just missed the call. It is 5 to 6 steps and I watched the entire finals and never saw a single travelling call.

I saw only one in the entire playoffs, and that was a bad call because the guy had just been blatantly fouled and instead of calling the foul, the ref called travelling!

B) Instruct the new referees to call EVERY foul. I do mean EVERY foul. Ticky tack or otherwise. It is just awful to watch the team who can dish out and take the most punishment win the championship. This isn't football, this is basketball. The less tackling the better. Call all the fouls and only one thing will happen.... less fouls will occur. Then the Shooting Percentages will go up and the game will be more exciting.

C) A complete banishment of the shot clock! Rid us of this horrible device that puts a premium on speed of player over quality of player. This will put the importance back on ball handling skills, passing skills and shooting skills. If you are good at these things you will be in every game, regardless of how fast you can run.

There you go.... David Stern make these corrections and next year we will see some great basketball!

Hey Del, y here. I agree, I quit watching basketball some time ago due to the horrendous officiating and unlikable players. I would go even further and eliminate the 3-point shot and start calling "dunking" what it is: offensive goaltending. NO hands within the cylinder. Take care and see ya' in the forum.......y
